Craig Petty Lecture 2nd of June

Craig has managed to book a very special lecture by Craig Petty for our June the 2nd meeting.  The lecture is free to Members and £10 to non members.  It will begin at 7.30 pm and is Craig’s all new lecture (entitled the 2012 Lecture).  Magick Lounge, 82 Broad Street, Sheffield, S2 5TG

“Craig is an expert at close up magic and is know by his peers as one of the greatest sleight of hand artists in the UK. His area of expertise is coin manipulation and he has spent years dedicated to revolutionizing this branch of magic. In 2009 he was described by Magic Week (one of the top journals for magicians) as the greatest living coin manipulator in Europe. Magic Scene also awarded him the distinction of being ‘The Performer to Watch in 2009″.

Craig has published over 10 DVD’s on the art of sleight of hand specifically for magicians and these have proven to be a huge hit worldwide. In 2009 he was invited to represent England in the European Championships of Magic and on top of this is the current 3SM Champion of Magic. Craig has also been invited this year to compete in the Northern Close Up Magician of the year competition and The Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the year competition.

He is a member of the Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star and was only the third person in history to ever be awarded this position straight from joining. As well as being a great performer he is in demand as a magical teacher helping other magicians improve and grow as performers. Craig has lectured all over the UK and in the next year plans to lecture in the USA and Australia. Craig is one of few performers to be invited to lecture at the Magic Circle HQ in London.” Taken from his website.

Matthew Johnson Lecture at the Magick Lounge 16th Of June

“He’ll be lecturing here at The Magick Lounge on Thursday 16 June at 7.30 p.m. Doors open at 7.00. Cost is £10. (this is not a Circle event so you will have to pay)

As an ex-Rotherham lad, he says he’s looking forward to meeting loads of old friends. And some magicians too.

Those who have seen his work, or perhaps own his DVDs (available from Magick!) will know that Matt’s stuff is always innovative, practical, and above all, entertaining.” More details can be found at Russell’s website.
